Background
What do urban farmers need
-they have manufacturing capacity for the vertical farming units for installation orders
- concerns around the stigma around farming, future generations
-want to engage more and more people to use vertical farming setups
- They are concerned
people don't know where their food comes from.
- What do consumers ( potential Urban Farmer) want?
- a more adaptable way to inculcate farming as an everyday habit
- time/cost/accessibility/feasibility /wellbeing
-open for community building/sharing if it makes the process more manageable (economically and responsibly)
Business Model
We are Green space at the centre, our target audience on the left, on the right are the feasibility model. Our partners are community, Vertical Farming and Agriculture technologist.
In order to ensure fair and convenient exchange of produce, we set up the green point system, that is, when urban farmers trade produce, the value of the produce they sell is measured by the green point, and they can also exchange the green point for other people's produce.
Service Impact
The potential extended impact of this service is that it can manage wastage by helping consumers grow the food they need and eliminates the supply chain resource costs by making fresh vegetables accessible.
Featured Mockup
Based on the insight as mentioned before about the lack of awareness on the consumers ,we made the process more relatable and intuitive.
Its very difficult for people to sometimes even know the exact dimensions of the space, we give them a relatable comparison to the everyday products in their house that take up space eg. a microwave , helping people understand how accessible urban , Then coming to the costing option, the cost reduces as many people share , making it seem more budget friendly.
Another function is People can see the nearest greenspace just through the app
The feature has Visualisation of fresh produce available in the sharing pods nearby people can share production by themselves.
Greenspace also shows you the nearest options to share or exchange your excess produce.Users can clearly see progress of the produces they grow on the app.Gives people a new way to exchange excess produce with friends and even neighbours to need it.They can share their experiences on the platform by documenting their process or influencers can guide the new farmers. Sharing experience can be a great way of learning and assistance.
User prototype
We also asked the consumers if there’s a share space near their house for vertical farming, and are they interested in.
All of the consumers said they have a strong interest in vertical farming, they are glad to have a try. But they were very worried about space, They're not sure if there's enough space in their homes for equipment. so build amounts of green pod will be this program next our focus on
this service will unfold step by step in the coming 5 years starting from building their agriculture awareness, something that most of the farming companies (traditional &urban ) are trying to do right now.
Our service will contribute in this transition to adapt a new decentralised farming lifestyle by enhancing collective food choices for community well being.
